You Can Help Us... Volunteer:

Art Teachers/Ceramic Instructors:  If you have had any experience with ceramics, tile making, or any type of art or painting, we need you...  The children will be making and painting the tiles for our new Tile Wall Project in groups of 50 tiles, so we will need as much help as we can get for our tile making days.  If you have some free time and any experience with teaching art, painting, ceramics or just want to come and help, please call Sara de Cardona at the number below.

Dancing Instructors: We are looking for volunteer dance instructors. Our goal is to teach the children the sheer joy of dancing. The classes would be three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We are in need of teachers, helpers and/or someone to sew the traditional dance costumes. If you would like to help us with our dancing classes, please contact us at the numbers below.

Homework Helpers: The children come to Casa Infantil Mojoneras before and/or after school each day to do their homework. We need volunteers who are willing to sit down and help one child or a group of children with their homework. Homework helpers are needed five days a week Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM. If you would like to help the children with their homework, please contact us at the numbers below. (Spanish is not a requirement — only love and patience).

Kitchen Helpers: Here at Casa Infantil Mojoneras we feed up to 150 children a hot meal each day. Our cook Chayo could use some kitchen help. If you would like to volunteer for KP duty or want to come cook a special meal or treat for the kids, please let us know. Our kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 12:30 PM.

Craft Teachers: If you have a handicraft that you enjoy and would be willing to teach that to a group of children and/or their parents, it would be wonderful. Busy hands are happy hands and we are always looking for interesting handicrafts to teach the children and their parents. Days and hours are flexible and can be worked around your schedule.

Holiday Decoration Volunteers: Holidays are special times here at Casa Infantil Mojoneras. We are always looking for ways to make each one special and memorable for the children. The children love to decorate or to be totally surprised by new vibrant displays for the holidays. If you would like to volunteer to decorate our classrooms or help the children decorate, please call us right away. The major holidays are approaching quickly.

Tutors for Parents: We are always looking for volunteers to teach our children’s parents a skill or talent they can use to help end the cycle of poverty. To improve the lives of the children of Vallarta, sometimes you have to start with the parents. If you have a special skill or talent that you would be willing to teach the parents, please let us know. “You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or you can teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime”.

Chauffeurs: We need volunteers to chauffer the children to their many singing engagements during the upcoming Christmas Season. Each year to promote the sale of the Christmas Album recorded by the children, they perform all over Vallarta and the surrounding area. If you have a large vehicle and are willing to chauffer the children, please call us. Santa would be proud.
